Description

Zope Topic Maps – or ZTM – is an Open Source project to build a user-friendly Topic Maps driven content management system. It is written in Python on top of the Zope application server. First developed in 2001 and now at version 3.0, ZTM has been used as the foundation for several high-profile Norwegian web portals and is probably the world’s most widely used tool for building Topic Maps-based portals. ZTM aims to make Topic Maps publishing accessible to the average user without requiring an understanding of the finer points of the Topic Maps paradigm. This tutorial by ZTM’s lead developer will teach you how to install a server and build an ontology for your own publishing needs. Participants are expected to have some familiarity core Topic Maps concepts.

Bring a computer and start building your own topic maps-website using ZTM, the leading open source Topic Maps-driven Content Management System. You will learn how to get up and running, create your ontology, start filling the knowledge base, customize apperance and start the conference with your own topic map.
